美国再次传出枪击事件，就发生在阵亡将士纪念日(5月29日)当天晚上，佛罗里达州著名渡假区好莱坞海滩(Hollywood Beach)发生连续枪击，人们惊慌地朝海滩逃跑，但仍然有9人受伤。

美联社报导，警方发言人贝蒂斯基 (Deanna Bettineschi) 说，枪击事件发生在晚上 7点前，似乎是帮派纷争，双方先是口角，然后爆发了斗殴，很快就有人拔枪射击，在一方人马躲避子弹并逃跑时，枪手追击并持续开枪，现已有1人被逮捕，但警方正在寻找更多嫌犯。另外，伤者9人当中，是6名成人和3名儿童。

警察局长欧布莱恩(Chris O’Brien)说，枪击事件发生后，数十名警察赶往现场稳定秩序。“这是个不幸的晚上，本来是一群守法公民来到我们的海滩，却被一群罪犯打断了平静的夜。”

目击者之一的史考特(Alvie Carlton Scott III)说，当时他在海滩散步，突然听到连续的枪声，赶紧躲到一棵树后面，虽然不知道有没有帮助。之后是在警察的引导下，逃离了该地区。

另一位目击者沃德(amie Ward)看到的更多，他说：“几个年轻人先是正在商店前起衝突，其中一个人拔出枪来，开始朝对方射击。”
